The Lord of the Rings TrilogyThere's something for everyone in these films. Action, adventure, romance, and plenty of eye candy. My favourite characters are Merry and Pippin, they really develop as the films unfold.

Honestly, I pretty much like them all equally, but I have a fondness for the way the story begins. There's just something about it . . .

Although I really loved all three films, my favourite is still Fellowship.

Have you actually got around to watching the extended Return of the King?

Do you know I have!!! How shocking is that, it only took me 2 years!! It's the longest extended edition out of the 3 I noticed too. Still absolutely fabulous even though my bottom was so numb I felt like it didn't exist anymore by the time it'd finished.

Yes, they are very long movies. Some of my friends - even my brother - won't watch them because of it. On the other hand, I know some people who did not like fantasy still loved these movies (my cousin must have watched all three at least 5 times each).

I have to say that even though they are incredibly long, when I saw them at the cinema I was so into the film that I didn't notice the length of time, and was actually still quite comfortable in those cinema chairs at the end!

I got fidgety anyway because I drink way too much diet soda, but otherwise I was very much into it. It was definitely worth it. I only got to see the first two in the theatre, however. I didn't see The Return of the King until it came out on DVD.

When I went to ROTK, on the night it opened at the cinema, we left in plenty of time to be there but there'd been a truck accident on the roundabout right outside the theatre which had caused tailbacks for miles. We ended up being sat in traffic for about 45minutes, and I was verging on hysteria, and was sorely tempted to leave the car and walking the rest of the way!! Luckily the lovely cinema people had delayed the start of all the showings!!

Really? Now that's cool. I have a feeling it wouldn't happen here, not unless they thought they'd lose more money if they didn't hold the show.

Its kind of hard to pick one movie. I mean yes its 3 movies, but its really just one big story broken into 3 parts. Unlike other movie sequels where each sequel has its own story.
Anyway if I had to choose one I guess it would be Two Towers and mainly for the Battle of Helm's Deep. A good battle!

'It still only counts as one!'
One of my favorite lines in RoTK. I voted for 'Return' mostly because of that segment. Almost didn't vote for 'Return' because it has four endings in one movie (Frodo waking up segment could have been shortened so as to not seem like an ending unto itself, not sure how to have changed the coronation in order to not make it seem like an ending ... then there was the return to Hobbiton ... that movie just and too many conclusions the way it was done.
TT is great for many reasons and almost got my vote.
