The Dragonlance ChroniclesThese are the first in a series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I first read them about 15 years ago, and they still rank up there amongst my favourites.
Set on the world of Krynn, they are about the battle between good and evil. Our heroes must defeat the Queen of Darkness and restore the balance, or all of Krynn will fall.
My favourite characters in these books are Tasslehoff Burrfoot - a Kender, and Flint Fireforge - a dwarf, they have me, at times, laughing and crying.
