Inside The TavernMal looked around the tavern, satisfied that all was in good working order. The bar was fully stocked with every kind of drink imaginable, along with plenty of snacks. By the open fire, were large comfy armchairs. Off to the side were cosy nooks for those who wanted privacy.
She was waiting for the arrival of her Bar Tender, Nikki, then she could open the doors for the first time, and welcome the customers.

Nikki
|
Nikki rushed in The Star:
"I'm sorry I'm late, I was playing bingo." he pants.
He jumps over the bar and takes his position ready to tend the bar.

Mala
|
'Bingo?' Mal almost wets herself laughing, as she imagines Nikki playing bingo.
She throws open the doors, letting the bright sunshine spill in. She walks over to the jukebox, and picks a tune. Soon, Bowling For Soup - High School Never Ends, is blasting out.
Mal goes over to the bar and orders a pint. 'How's it going Nikki?'. she asked.

Nikki pours a drink for Mal
"Very well, very well indeed" he smiles "Yourself?"

Mala
|
'doing good thanks. I've had a very lazy week, so I'm feeling all refreshed.'

Zoe
|
Outside the tavern a young maiden was walking by and stopped dead in her tracks as she heard "the whole damn world is just as obsessed....." coming from inside The Morning Star Tavern. She'd never been in there before, but the sound of one of her favourite tunes playing was temping her in....

Mal notices a young woman standing outside, tapping her foot to the music. She goes over to the door, and introduces herself.
Hi, I'm Mal, and this is my new tavern. Why don't you come in, the first drink is on me.

Hi, I'm Maddie, nice to meet you, and thanks for the invitiation
Maddison followed Mal into the welcoming warmth of the tavern, and made her way to the bar.

Mala
|
Mal followed Snowie back inside. She called over to Nikki, 'This first drink is on the house, ok?'
She then went and sat down by the fire, in one of the squashy chairs, and waited for Snowie to join her.

Nikki
|
"Sure, you just make yourself comfortable and I'll get you a special drink for welcome"
Nikki starts mixing some stuff in a drink.

Zoe
|
Thanks, I'll just be over there by the fire, give me a shout when the drink's ready and I'll come and get it.
Maddison left the bar and made her way to the inviting fire place and seated herself in one of the other comfy chairs.
How long have you had this place? she asked Mal

Mala
|
'Not all that long, it was a wreck when I bought it, and took a while to fix up' Mal grimaced at the memory. 'It was worth all the work though, I think it looks great now'

Nikki
|
Nikki jumps over the bar with drinks in his hands. He walks to Snowie and Mal and hands them the drinks:

Why thanks Nikki, it looks delicious. Mal smiled as she took her drink.

Wow, this looks fantastic said Maddison as she took a sip, it tastes great too, never had anything like it. Thanks Nikki
|
Nikki
|
My pleasure, you just enjoy your stay ladies.

Mala
|
Mal decides she want some snackage, so she shouts to Nikki,
'Can you bring us some peanuts, and another round of drinks, please'
|
Nikki
|
Nikki bangs his head on the bar while cleaning the floor from Mal shouting.
"Yes ma'am, right away!"
He mumbles something and goes to get peanuts and drinks.

Mala
|
'Jeez, Nikki! Are you ok? Mal asked, as he approached their table. 'Here, have a cookie, get a drink, and come and join us'
|
Zoe
|
*Maddie covers her mouth to stifle a giggle*
|
Nikki
|
"Yay! Cookies!"
Nikki pours himself a glass of whiskey and brings the bottle to the table.
"So, are we gonna get sloshed?"

Zoe
|
sounds like a plan Nikki, fill her up says Maddison, downing her drink in one and thrusting her glass at him.

Nikki
|
Nikki fills Snowies glass.
"Cheers!"

Mala
|
Mal grins at the idea of getting sloshed. 'I knew I liked you for a reason Nikki', she said, as she took a swig of her drink.

Zoe
|
Maddie felt relaxed as the warmth of the whiskey enveloped her.
She spots Nikki's cookies, 'are they chocolate chip?' she asks.

Nikki
|
"Of course they are!" he smiles at the stupid question lol
|
Zoe
|
Maddie puts on her best 'puppy face' and holds her hand out to Nikki for a cookie.
|
Nikki
|
"Oh come on, I invented the puppy face...oh well, I guess I can give you one..."
Nikki hands out a cookie to Maddison
|
Mala
|
Mal falls over in a dead faint, the idea of Nikki giving away one of his cookies was too much for her to cope with.

Zoe
|
Maddison picks Maladicta up off the floor and plonks her back in the chair.
Thanks for the cookie Nikki, you're a sweetie she said and took a bite.

Mala
|
Mal slumps in the chair where Maddie put her, feeling slightly sick. She wonders to herself if, in fact, this IS Nikki, for she's never known him give away a cookie before. She shakes her head, as if to rid it of these disturbing thoughts, and takes a huge drink, burps, and starts to feel better.

Zoe
|
So Mal, I was wondering if there might be a bit of bar work available in here? I'm looking for a little job and this place is great? Maddie looks sideways at Nikki before adding with a laugh and if you're current barman turns out to be a robot you might need someone.....

Mala

Mal thinks for a while, then says, with a laugh, 'Sure, I can give you some part time work here, when can you start?'

Zoe
|
As soon as you need me, just let me know. Thanks Mal!!!! Maddie gives Mal a big hug.

'You can start now if you want, so that Nikki can have his break' Mal said, holding out her empty glass.
|
Zoe
|
Maddie takes the glass from Mal and heads over to the bar to concoct something special. Looking back over her shoulder she shouts Hey Nikki, do you want to try one of my experiments too?

Nikki
|
"Sure thing Maddie!"
|
Zoe
|
Maddie returned a short while later with the drinks.....
 For Mal

She also brought along a plate of Rice Crispie buns she'd made earlier....

Mala
|
Mal accepts her drink and takes a sip. 'Mmmmmm, delicious, and it's my favourite colour too'. She reaches over and takes a crispie bun, 'Thanks Maddie'

Zoe
|
Glad you like it, Maddie said grinning. I'll leave you guys to chat and I'll be at the bar if you need me, I'm going to try to find my way around it a bit more.

Maddie disappeared back behind the bar. After spending a bit of time checking out where stuff was kept, she decided to clean a few glasses and wipe down the bar and some tables to pass the time on and keep busy. First of all though she headed over to the jukebox to wack on some more tunes, cleaning up to music was always much more fun.
