Doctor Who!

I'm so glad this fantastic program has returned to our screens. The 1st episode was brilliant. I think I'm gonna like the new assistant. I wasn't sure at 1st because I really liked Billie Piper as Rose and was sad to see her go, but Freema seems to be able to fill her shoes quite nicely. And of course the very lovely DT returning as the Doctor.... need I say more?
Mala

I'm ashamed to say I don't watch it. DT is very cute however, what else have I seen him in? I'm having a senior moment and can't remember.
Zoe

He's been in, among other things, Casanova, Blackpool and was Barty Crouch Jr in Goblet of fire, and recently he was in a BBC production called Recovery which was fantastic and so sad it had me in tears by the end.
Mala

That was it, Casanova. I loved that!
Zoe

I haven't seen it with him in, but I'd like to......
Michael

I've only seen a few episodes so far (because I don't have cable or satellite), but I loved it. I used to watch the old show often when I was younger.

I remember telling my ex that I'd wish someone would update Doctor Who (like Star Trek: The Next Generation compared to the original series). She said it would never happen because the "cheesiness" of Doctor Who was "part of it's appeal." I'm so glad that this new series proves her (partially) wrong, because its got the best of the old and better graphics.

EDIT: Oh, Mal or Snowie . . . is a url okay in my signature? Don't want to put there without asking first.
Mala

Sure, it's not a problem.
Michael

Thanks, Mal.

Say, did anyone see the episode with devil/demon? I missed it, although I saw the first part. That's what I get for not having cable or satellite. Anyway, is it good as I hope it is?
Zoe

Was that The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit episodes where they land on a space station next to a black hole? If so then yeah it's a goody so you'll have to try and see it. We're lucky over here because obviously you don't need cable or satellite to see it as it's shown on normal terrestrial telly!

Last weeks episode was good as well, they ended up having an adventure with Shakespeare, and some witches! I'm still liking the new assistant which is good.

I could get very disgusted with the BBC tomorrow night though because the footy final's on and if it runs into extra time then they'll postpone the episode until next week!!!!!
Michael

Yes, that's it, Snowie. I saw the first part (which I assume is "Impossible Planet"?) but missed the second.

Footy finals? As is in "football" (a.k.a. "soccer")? If so . . . I hate it when sports boot my shows off until the following week. Well, I guess since I'm not really watching TV these days, I shouldn't complain . . .
Zoe

Keep an eye out for The Satan Pit, it's an excellent episode. I love the Ood, they're weird, and kinda creepy too!

Yeah by footy I mean football as in soccer, it's crap that they'll take it off air if it runs into extra time, although there's a little bit of me that understands why they'll do it (it'll end up being on late so their younger audience would be likely to miss it), but I'm selfish and don't give a stuff about them and just want to watch it anyway.

Look out for tomorrow nights' entry, if there's lot of *@~# then you'll know why!!!
Zoe

Blimey has it really been that long since I posted on this here thread, shameful!!!

The last 2 episodes were a 2-parter and were excellent as usual, even more so due to reappearance of the Daleks again. They've definately got to be up there with the best baddies, them and the Cyber Men, I think they're cool too.
Zoe

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Just watched another fantastic episode and at the end it showed you a really long teaser trailer for the next episode, and Captain Jack (Harkness) is back and it looks really ace, and brill, and exciting etc, and then they put it iddy biddy letters at the bottom - back in 2 weeks!!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! And do you know why they're taking it off air for 2 weeks, bloody Eurovision that's why!!! I'm disgusted, and may now have to cry.
Zoe

GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Zoe

That was fab, but Captain Jack wasn't in it, and looking at next weeks trailer he's not back then either. I think they must have been doing a whole of rest of series trailer or summat. Any how I'm quite happy because the episode was great and David was looking as fine as ever....
Zoe

Captain Jack's back tonight tra la la la!!

Forgot to tell about last weeks episode. It was excellent, I really enjoyed this one. I won't tell much for any that haven't seen it and plan to, but those statues are bloody freaky - don't blink, and don't look away!!!
Zoe

That episode was absolutely FANTASTIC!! It's one of the best I've seen in ages, and they're all always superb.

The Master has returned and stolen the TARDIS and left them all at the end of the universe. Captain Jack's back too, which was fab. It ended on a right cliff-hanger to take us to next week!!

I know it's not good to wish your life away, but hell, I wish it was next Saturday LOL!!!
Brooke

How could they leave it on a cliffhanger like that. I wish it was saturday to.
Zoe

Oh just wow, wow, wow, wow, WOOOOOOW!!! Last nights episode was absolutely brilliant. I came away from the telly so hyper and manically excited it was rediculous. The revelation that Captain Jack becomes the Face of Boe was pure genious. The ending was the usual cliffhanger, with the TARDIS crashing into the Titanic! Roll on the Christmas special LOL.

Catherine Tate is heading back to the Tardis as the Doctor's new assistant.

The comedian is set to return to her role as runaway bride Donna, from last year's Christmas special, for the whole of the fourth series.

We last saw her character turning down the Doctor's offer to travel with him, but it looks like she's reconsidered.

She'll be joined by Freema Agyeman, as Martha Jones, halfway though the 13-week run, which is due to hit our screens next spring.

Writer Russell T Davies said he was delighted Catherine was coming back.

"Viewers can expect more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008," he added.

Earlier this week, TV bosses revealed that pop star Kylie Minogue will star alongside David Tennant in this year's Christmas Day special - Voyage of the Damned

Hmmmm. I think I'd rather have Martha back full time. In the last Christmas special she was ok but I think her character will get on my tits before the series is out. And I kept waiting for her to say 'am I bovvered' the whole time too, which I don't want to be thinking whilst I'm trying to enjoy the show.

Bottom line I suppose I'm just sulking because I wanted to be his, ahem, assistant. Although I'm not sure the way I'd assist him would be suitable for broadcast LOL.
ChazKelly

docter who is ok I watch it sometimes ok a bit but its not something I would watch every week. but its ok to watch its hard to understand if you Don't watch it from when its starts.
Zoe

BBC reveals Doctor Who 'gap year'

David Tennant's appearance in the fifth series of Doctor Who looks uncertain after it was revealed there will be no new series in 2009.

The fourth series, starring Tennant, is due to hit TV screens next year, but the fifth will not be seen until 2010.

Instead, Tennant, will star in three Doctor Who specials, written by Russell T Davies, on BBC One in 2009.

A spokeswoman for Doctor Who said she was unable to comment whether Tennant would return for the 2010 series.

Zoe, you should offer your services as a writer if they need new episodes. Maybe that's all Tennant is waiting for, a script.
Zoe

Or me, as his new assistant!
gnome1special

See?! He's waiting for you, either way.
