A 33-year-old woman has died after falling from a cable car in north Wales.

The woman from Llandudno is thought to have fallen around 70 feet from the cable car on the Great Orme.

The incident happened at an area near the ski lodge - which is about halfway up. Emergency services were called at around 1100 BST on Friday.

North Wales Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and that the "cable car was not at fault".

A force spokesman said: "An adult female has died as a result of falling from cable car."

"There appear to be no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed."

Police are trying to inform the woman's next-of-kin.

The cable car opened on Thursday for tests after being shut for the winter.

Llandudno Tourist Office confirmed that it has stopped running at the moment but said they did not know why.


Remind me never to go in one of those again.

How horrendous. I've always felt nervous going on things like that. It's like those ones a Flamingo Land. I've been on them because the girls quite like them but I s**t myself every time.
